Doing the daily 2 step
“Changing your life takes TIME. It doesn’t happen overnight.
PATIENCE is just as important as motivation, willpower and discipline.
You can’t rush your own transformation.
So if you’re beating yourself for not being where you think you should be by now, give yourself some grace.
Transformation takes time “
Mel Robbins
I read that post from Mel yesterday when I was feeling really frustrated and it resonated deeply.
Today is 6 months since I celebrated my 50th birthday
In a conversation with a friend yesterday, who turns 50 next month, she asked me about my 50 Intentions which I had shared at the time of my birthday. Mmm I have to admit while I was feeling in a really good place back in March – confident, working with purpose and chasing my dreams… I seem to have fallen into a bit of a hole over the past couple of months, as I shared in my previous email.
The sensation of 2 steps forward and 1 step back is incredibly frustrating. Our brains do not like change though and as part of our survival mechanism will do whatever they need to keep us safe. Safe in the comfort of what is familiar, even if it is not what is good for us or what we need.
So as I practice patience, not easy by any means, I am also continuing to explore…
- exploring my 50 Intentions again as they have fallen by the wayside a little,
- exploring my Human Design as I am fascinated by it,
- exploring Women’s Circles as they are still calling to me,
- exploring accepting myself and the choices I am making,
- exploring being comfortable with simply being present in the here and now with no grand plans or expectations for myself.
Over 31k people liked Mel’s post and 100’s commented, so I know I am not alone which is a good feeling too. If you need to read that message too I hope you’ll let me know.
